In response to growing concerns over the spread of COVID-19, St. Louis County Library has canceled the May 2 event with Ruth Reichl. The decision was made in accordance with St. Louis County s extended shelter-in-place status. We apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment. We hope to reschedule the event later in the year. The St. Louis County Library Foundation Presents An Evening with Food Writer and Former Gourmet Editor-in-Chief Ruth Reichl Author of "Save Me the Plums: My Gourmet Memoir" An Onstage Interview with Allyson Mace, Founder/Publisher of Sauce Magazine Saturday, May 2, 7:00 pm (Doors open at 6:00 pm) St. Louis County Library Headquarters - Main Reading Room 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. INDIVIDUAL TICKET $22 (Admits ONE and includes one paperback copy of "Save Me the Plums") OR PACKAGE TICKET $28 (Admits TWO and includes one paperback copy of "Save Me the Plums") **A book signing will follow the presentation. Trailblazing food writer and beloved restaurant critic Ruth Reichl took the job (and the risk) of a lifetime when she entered the high-stakes world of magazine publishing. Now, for the first time, she chronicles her groundbreaking tenure as editor-in-chief of Gourmet. Complete with recipes, "Save Me the Plums" is a personal journey of a woman coming to terms with being in charge and making a mark, following a passion and holding on to her dreams--even when she ends up in a place she never expected to be.
