Cena con Amici ("Dinner with friends"): Fall Harvest An intimate rustic, authentic Italian pop-up dinner In partnership with The Woman's Exchange of St. Louis, Chef Dawn Wilson of Vicini Pastaria and A NEW DAWN personal chef service once again presents Cena con Amici (“Dinner with friends”), an evening of rustic hand-crafted Italian food, wine, and lively conversation with soon-to-be great friends. This time, we’ll start the evening with 30 minutes of Sip, Shop, and Savor! Take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to shop after-hours at the beloved Woman’s Exchange while mingling and enjoying a glass of wine and your first antipasti course. At 7pm, guests will gather around our communal table inside The Woman’s Exchange’s iconic tearoom for a taste of fall harvest-time in Italy with an additional 5+ courses of this made-from-scratch, authentic Italian feast prepared with a combination of seasonal, local and imported Italian artisanal ingredients. Friday, October 25th Doors open 6:30pm: Sip, Shop, and Savor 7pm: Seated dinner 6+ course family-style meal: $75/person* Wine pairings: $25/person; (wine/beer will also be available for purchase by the glass the night of the event) *This is a ticketed event and we CANNOT accommodate walk-ins. All guests must purchase tickets in advance. VEGETARIAN OPTION AVAILABLE (INDICATE AT CHECKOUT) Contorni: Two seasonal salads/side dishes Torta di pere e ricotta Ricotta mousse tart, marsala-poached pears, smoked maple salted caramel Chef Dawn Wilson As the chef/owner of A NEW DAWN personal chef service since 2006, Dawn has provided catering, personal chef services, and cooking instruction to many clients in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs to rave reviews. Formerly a research scientist with a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Molecular Genetics, Dawn’s passion for cooking and entertaining led her away from the lab and into the kitchen. She developed her culinary style with stints around the Chicago area at Bin 36, Cafe Las Bellas Artes, several catering companies, as the Culinary Director for Whole Foods Market teaching cooking classes and running the private event program, and as the fresh pasta-maker at Balena.In 2011, Dawn moved to the small Tuscan town of Colle Val d'Elsa where she worked at the rustic Slowfood restaurant, Officina della Cucina Popolare, learning the secrets of handmade pasta and Tuscan cuisine. Following her stage at Officina, she traveled and tasted her way around Italy with stops in many regions including Emilia-Romagna, Umbria, Veneto, Piedmont, Lazio, and the Amalfi Coast. In 2016, her love of all things Italian. especially handmade pasta, drove her to launch Vicini Pastaria, a line of artisanal handmade pasta, sauces, and other Italian specialties available at local farmers markets and small boutique grocery stores. Last year, Dawn returned to her hometown of St. Louis to be closer to family, to continue to share her love of cooking with a whole new group of diners, and to ultimately open an authentic Italian pastaria, caffé, and market.
