Fall Harvest: Foraging in the Forest
Channel your inner squirrel as we learn how to identify, preserve, and use some of the wild food available in our area, including nuts, berries, and other plant parts. Join Emily of Wild Seed Field Museum for a fun-filled morning geeking out about all of the delicious and healthful resources our local forests hold. We'll explore the wild spaces in Deer Creek Park as you practice identification skills with an awesome hand-drawn guide that's yours to keep! You'll also leave with a wildcrafted tincture and fermented drink kit to nourish yourself as we welcome in the cold. ----- Fall Harvest is a class series where friends can learn about a seasonal wildcrafted project together. Drinks are not included in the ticket price, but are available for purchase before or after the class. Please arrive 10 minutes early and check in at the outdoor register in the greenhouse. Class location is subject to weather, but please dress for comfort in a shady outdoor setting. Walk-ins are welcome, but please call in advance if you are able, as low registrations may result in class cancellation (314-764-2140). By registering for this event you are releasing Maypop Coffee & Garden Shop and Wild Seed Field Museum from any legal liability related to the information or supplies acquired within.
